Fall in Love with Maine
BOOK YOUR FALL GETAWAY
Tents are filling up this season with leaf peepers, adventures and relaxation seekers. Don't miss out on experiencing the best New England destination for fall travelers.
Changing seasons means new adventures
Maine in the fall is simply spectacular. With mild temperatures, vibrant colors and less visitors than in the busy summer months, it is no wonder Maine continues to be one of the top destinations for leaf peepers and adventurers alike.
Looking to book the perfect getaway? Look no further! We’ve compiled a short list of some of our favorite activities and events this fall on Mount Desert Island.
Spend the day exploring the beauty of the island and then come back in the evenings to a warm fire, craft cocktails, replenishing food and great conversations.
We can't wait to welcome you here.
It wouldn’t be right to create a list and not include the beautiful changing colors of MDI. Fall foliage reports will start in September, but we believe the first and second week in October are ideal for getting the full experience. Take the 27-mile Acadia National Park Loop Road, just minutes from Terramor Outdoor Resort, for some of the best views of the park during the this magical season.
BAR HARBOR FINE ARTS FESTIVAL
Perouse the streets of Bar Harbor during the weekend of
September 10 to enjoy artwork by local and national artists. This free event is a favorite for locals who get to enjoy the charming downtown without the hustle and bustle of heavy tourist season. Find the perfect memento to take home with you to remember your Acadia escape.

Is there really anything better than fall running?! Compete in the 44
th Annual Half Marathon and 5K which starts and ends in charming Bar Harbor and takes runners through beautiful Acadia National Park. Afterwards, relax in our heated pool and soak your sore muscles in our large hot tub. Or rest in your king bed before heading out for an evening celebration at our Lodge. ACADIA NIGHT SKY FESTIVAL
Did you know the skies above Acadia National Park are some of the last pristine, star-filled skies in the eastern United States? It’s here that the Milky Way shines brightest in the largest expanse of the naturally dark sky east of the Mississippi.
After a year postponement, the Acadia Night Sky Festival is back on! Stay with us September 29 – October 3 for a weekend backed with workshops, internationally recognized speakers and hands-on experiences.
TASTE THE SEASON
New England has some great beer, and we may be biased, but we think Maine has the best! Fall is a perfect time to get a true taste of Maine at any of the local breweries. Area seasonal rotations are sure to excite your taste buds and quench your thirst.
Don’t want to go far? Not a problem! At our Kitchen bar we serve only the best Maine beers and will have some of the fall flavors on tap
SWING INTO FALL
Mount Desert Island is home to some of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses. Test your skills at Maine's olderst and the countries 8th oldest course,
Kebo Valley. Or head over to Northeast Harbor to try your luck on the 18-hole, par 70 course. It won't be your typical day on the greens with the crisp air and colorful surroundings, we promise it will be a memorable experience.
